Check Sheets are use to collect data about processes. The data collected by check sheets can be used to create Pareto Charts, Histogram, etc.
Initially there is four types of check sheets. But in some special cases we can customize any type of check sheet and also can create new check sheet to collect data what we need. If you collect data for some kind of project best thing is collect data yourself or in your supervision. Don't use any data collected by somebody else in past. otherwise you can't get clear idea about the situation.
The four types of Check Sheets are here.
1.Classification of Defects
Using this type we can collect data about no of defects & types of them.
Example:-
Below chart shows that use of this type of check sheet in wood working factory.
Use of this type of check sheets is to identify the relation between the defect and the place it appear on the finished product. We can use picture of finish product as a check sheet.
Example:-
Let us take we need to identify defective locations of Floor Tiles after the kilning process. Below picture shows that the defected location of a lot of tiles.
Example:-
Let us take we need to identify defective locations of Floor Tiles after the kilning process. Below picture shows that the defected location of a lot of tiles.
3.Identify Frequency of Defect.
This type of check sheets are little bit complex than previous types. There is more data in this check sheet and we can us this to collect large amount of data (time, operator, machine) about defects.
Example:-
Below check sheet shows that the data collected by tyre making factory. Morning means 8.00am to 12.00noon & Evening means 12.00pm to 4.00pm.
